Christmas with You
From the CD "Feathers and Tributes"

I've seen brolgas on the runway
As we're leaving Whyndam town
Kimberley ancient country rich and rare
And the desert looks like paintings
I wonder how they knew
What this country looked like from the air

But of all the people that I've met
And places that I've seen
From the Alice to the windswept coastal plain
The sunsets and the shooting stars in every tiny town
I need to go and see them all again

Chorus

And spend Easter time in Jindabyne
When the silver birches turn
Winter with the birds in Kakadu
Springtime in the Jarrah
When the wildflowers take your breath
But Christmas i will always spend with you
Christmas i will always spend with you

There's finches in the sugar cane
The crushing season's on
Sweet molasses on the humid breeze
And the trees still cap the mountains
What a sight it must have been
When all that beauty rolled down to the sea
But of all the people that I've met
And places that I've seen
From the gulf land to the south coast driving rain
The sunsets and the southern cross
In every tiny town
I just can't wait to see them all again

Chorus

The eagles guard the highway
To the western desert lands
Sacred songs of mighty Uluru
And the laws that stood for centuries
Now crumble in our wake
Progress couldn't teach us what they knew

But of all the people that I've met
And places that I've seen
From the sacred song lines to the southern shores
The marvels and the mysteries
That make this country home
I need to go and see them more and more

Chorus
